Stomach CancerSpecialists are surprised of stomach cancer outbreak on white young adults. Formerly, it was adult white Americans targeted by this cancer which have decreased. Now, it transferred to young adults’ ages 25 to 39 y/o which have reached to 70% during the past 3 decades.

National Cancer Institute specialists and experts found out that from year 1997-2006 there are cases in low stomach cancers caused by H Pylori bacteria. About three-fourth of the population or 39,003 cases are affected including 734 white young adults. Incidents reached up to .54 per 200,000 to about 1 per 200,000. Ages 25-84 rates drop down to 12 per 200,000 to 8 per 200,000; among black adults it drop down to 27 per 200,000 to 19 per 200,000.

Dr. Jaffer Ajani, digestive cancer specialist in University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston informs that the increase rate on young adults is not alarming at all, yet it does need to be evaluated.

According to American Medical Association’s Wednesday Journal that is basically on the lower stomach cancer than the upper that is associated to gastric reflux, named as 4th most basic cancer in the world. It is on Top 10 Most Basic Cancer in US, typically found on Asian-Americans, Black and Hispanic men and also to Asian-American women.

Lower stomach cancer is associated to food which is high in salt. This also comes in forms of preservatives. Asian countries mostly have this type of cancer since they are used to preservatives. Nevertheless, proper preservation and good hygiene keeps you away from stomach cancer and stop the spread of H Pylori infection.  Dr. Charles Rabkin of the National Cancer Institute, the study’s lead author informs that the rate at US dropped down but still many Americans consume salt and changes eating habits.
All theories remains unsettled, Rabkin informs, for there’s still H Pylori outbreak in young adults. They even thought that there are other bacteria involved.
