Ankles are one of the weaker and sensitive parts of our body. So many of us suffer from ankle injuries while sporting, running or working. Even breaking stairs can cause trouble to our ankles. Our whole body depends on our ankles. So it is important for us to keep it fit and strong. Here are some exercises that can strengthen the ankles.
A light stretching can be very effective to keep the ankles strong. Bend your ankles in different directions and hold it for a few seconds. This will help your ankle to loosen up the ligaments and the effect of any stress on the ankle will be reduced.

There are some other exercises that can help to make your ankle stronger.

Rope skipping also known as jumping rope is a basic exercise that can help your ankles to get stronger. This will energize your knee and ankle joints and make it more flexible.

Grab a hold of something and stand straight. Raise your calf muscle and rise on your feet. Stay like that for 5 seconds. Slowly repeat to the normal position. Repeat this process for 10 times and help your ankles grow stronger.

Stand up and roll back on your heels. Pull your toes as back as you can and hold on like this for 5 seconds. Repeat it 10 times.
The alphabet exercise can be done anywhere at work or at office. Write alphabet in the air with your foot and do it with the other foot also.

This is a great exercise to prevent ankle injuries and recovering from one as well.

There are also some equipment that help to strengthen your ankles. Search around the internet and you will get some good ones. Use those in the right way and have stronger ankles.
