Do you often hear ringing in your ears but you do not find any source of the ringing? Well, if it is happening to you then you are not having a psychological situation. This ringing in the ears is the symptom of a medical condition that is termed as tinnitus. It happens so that you listen ringing but it there is no outer source to the sound. Let me tell you that this problem is not at all life threatening but surely very irrigating one. The sound of ringing bells will follow you around always and everywhere. You might think of listening to your favorite song and suddenly you are interrupted with the annoying ringing sound. This situation can literally drive you totally nuts.
The reasons to this problem are arguable. But there are a few reasonable theories that say an ear infection left untreated can lead to this problem. It is also said that if you remain closer to a ringing sound for ages then you might experience this problem. But the most acceptable theory is says that passing a long time in an extremely loud noised environment causes tinnitus. Tinnitus happens so often to the war veterans. It is said that this happens because they have spend a long time in war and wars are usually very loud.

When it comes to treatment you usually have two choices. The first one is the surgery that your doctor wills advice you. But this might be a little dangerous as the surgery will have your ears cut open and when you get up from anesthesia you might end up a deaf. And the other way is therapy based. The therapist will teach you the exercises that will enable you to ignore the sound easily and never feel a thing.
